Basil

Basil came to us 17 days ago in a right state, with deep bite wounds on his head and face, very deep infection and bad fly strike.

His eye sockets were crammed full of flies eggs and I had to squeeze his eyes to get all the eggs out. I had to squeeze so much that I was really worried about his eyes. I couldn’t use the suction machine on his eyes, as I didn’t want it to suck his eyes out.

He had a huge pocket of pus on his forehead and scalp, which I cleaned up using our suction machine.

He was very poorly, and spent the best part of 2 weeks in an incubator, but I’m happy to say that he is out and about now, recovering well, and we saw his eyes for the first time last night.

Here are some before and after shots.

Well done Basil.
