Dorset Hedgehog Rescue endeavours to give the best care to every sick, injured or orphaned hedgehog that comes into the rescue. We are working to relieve suffering, provide care and rehabilitation and to release healthy, viable hedgehogs back into the wild. We receive no Government funding and, as a charity, rely on the generosity of our supporters, both individuals and businesses to keep the rescue open throughout the year.

We are a charity with deep local roots. We care about the natural environment and support communities across Dorset. If you want to show your customers that you care about the same things that they do, we are looking to develop a mutually beneficial relationship with your business.

You can help us in a number of ways and we can offer you much in return:

Donations
A cash donation towards our running costs or capital purchase projects.  Or a donation of goods or services used by the charity (printing, stationery, medical or veterinary products, animal foodstuffs). 

Volunteering for Staff
A volunteer day working for the rescue is a great team building opportunity for your staff. We need regular volunteers to help with animal care (so employees experiencing this may become regular volunteers for us) and we also have occasional tasks that need a focussed workday to tackle them.

Challenge Events
Why not challenge your colleagues to take part in a family fun event (such as a competitive litter pick or short walk challenge) or a more demanding sporting event (such as a distance walk or half- or full marathon). It’s a great way to get out into nature, push personal achievement, help the environment and fundraise for wildlife all at the same time.

Fundraising Challenge
Make Dorset Hedgehog Rescue your charity of the year, and challenge your staff to come up with creative individual or team fundraising ideas – cake bakes, quiz nights, clothes swaps, seasonal raffles, charity collection pots…. the possibilities are endless!

Payroll Giving
Also known as Give as You Earn (GAYE), is a way for employees to donate money to charities from their salaries before tax.  Employees can donate as much or as little as they like and can stop their donations at any time. Best of all, it’s tax-free! For every £1 donated, it will only cost the employee 80p (or if a higher rate taxpayer, 60p).
