We rely entirely on donations and receive no government funding to run our rescue and keep it open and helping hedgehogs 365 days a year. Holding a fundraising event or a sponsored activity is a great way to get involved, and can be lots of fun too! You’ll be supporting our work to rehabilitate sick, injured and orphaned hedgehogs and return them to the wild. Here are some ideas for individuals, families or groups to start you off. But we are sure you will come up with your own exciting and imaginative ideas!
How about….
A cake sale – at school, at work or a local community event
Making and selling crafts – for example knitted hedgehogs, hedgehog houses from scrap wood, or for children, making friendship bracelets or keyrings
Yard, garage or car boot sale – clear out your clutter and raise funds for a good cause
Plant sale – sell seedlings, rooted cuttings or unwanted plants at your garden gate or a community event
Sponsored family litter pick – you’ll be making the environment safer for wildlife and more enjoyable for humans too.
Sponsored walk – either organise one for your school, community or group of friends, or join a regional organised event. How about ‘Walk 100 miles in a Month’? Or a walk of 3 to 5 miles for small children?
Run a marathon – if you are fit and determined, set up a funding page to collect sponsorship for your effort and post updates on your training progress.
