Well, after a worrying night waiting for the flystrike hoglet Poppet to warm up, she finally took her first feed at 2.15am this morning.
Four hours later and she is toasty warm in her incubator and squeaking for another feed. She also passed urine and poo, which is a good sign after being so cold on arrival that her digestion is working. She hasn’t taken as much feed as would be normal for her size and weight, but she is trying and that’s what matters.
She is around 10 days old, with her eyes and ears still closed Fingers crossed for this little baby
