Two more orphan hoglets in earlier this evening, brother and sister weighing 53g & 56g respectively. Both very cold, both dehydrated, both with moderate flystrike, some of which has hatched into maggots.
They have been cleaned of flystrike, and are now warming up in an incubator. Hopefully they’ll take a feed when warmed up, but not too hopeful with this little pair as they have been without mum for too long and are quite cold, which is a killer for little one’s like these.
The male is barely responsive, while the female has tried to move around, but we’ll have to wait and see how they go.
