This hedgehog was seen running around in the yard and car park area of an industrial estate for a couple of hours yesterday morning. She was very dehydrated, with lots of ticks, mild ringworm and very frantic.
We found out why she was so frantic a couple hours after we picked her up as she gave birth to two hoglets. She is in a very poor condition, but we can’t disturb her at the moment or she may reject or kill the hoglets. She is too tired to even clean up the placenta and blood, which shows how poorly she is.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on her and keeping our fingers crossed.
