Blanche and her 4 little nail brushes, one week old today. Her nest was absolutely honking so we had to clean it today.
We usually leave new mums alone for at least a week unless we have concerns as disturbance can lead to the mums killing or rejecting the hoglets. We find that after a week or so, it is usually safe to check things are ok, and with as little disturbance as possible clean out the nest.
