A busy weekend here at Hamworthy – 9 new entries yesterday, 6 went out to foster and 2 released to the wild.
Today, we have 8 new entries so far;
A female hoglet weighing just 147g from Upton
A juvenile male hoglet weighing 305g from Upton
A juvenile female weighing 288g from Dorchester
A juvenile female weighing 293g from Bournemouth
A male hoglet weighing 212g from Blandford
A juvenile male weighing 447g from Blandford
An adult female weighing 547g from Hamworthy
A juvenile male weighing 274g from Organford.
We are still operating at considerably above capacity, and are struggling to cope. We are ever grateful to our wonderful team of volunteers for their continued support, without whose help we would not be able to operate at anything like these numbers.
We are slowly getting hogs out to foster, but have limited time due to seeing to new entries, treating and medicating hogs in our care etc.
Some of you that have emailed or messaged the rescue may not have had a response, for which I can only apologise, but we are truly up against it at the moment.
Now then, back to the grindstone…
