I’d like to say a big thank you to the team at Upton & Wareham Vets for ‘fixing’ one of our broken hogs today.
Maria came to us from Bearwood after being seen walking with a heavy limp. She had a swelling and deformity to her right hind leg. She was taken to the Vets at Upton who confirmed a broken leg by x-ray. They kept her comfortable overnight, and this morning she was operated on to have the break aligned and pinned.
As you can see from the x-ray images, they did a mighty fine job. She will go back in 10 days for the stitches to be removed, and should make a full recovery.
That will be another fit and healthy female hog able to be released back to the wild – just the way we like it.
