This is Puzzles, an adult male hog that came to us this evening, after being found out in daytime and walking ‘lop-sided’.
He was quite dehydrated, but we noticed that all his feet have open sores on them, and he had a toe missing from his front left foot.
He has had a quick bath, in case the sores were due to him having walked in something caustic, and his feet have been treated. He was also given subcutaneous fluids for his dehydration and had a dose of wide spectrum antibiotics to help keep down infection in his feet.
