Milly

This is little Milly. She came to us as a hoglet aged around 6 – 8 weeks old a few weeks before Christmas after being found completely covered in pink glittery nail varnish!!

She was completely unphased at being handled and we think a child may have picked her up in a garden and decided to play with her. She may even have been kept in a cage before as she seemed to accept being here without a fuss, which is unusual to say the least.

Most hogs will spend the first few days trying to escape their cages and indeed we have had a couple who managed it and wandered round the house over night.

All the nail varnish is now removed and she is doing well. With minimal handling she has now reverted back to natural behaviour and will hide or roll up when her cage is cleaned every day.

It is never advisable to take wild animals as a pet and it is against the law to do so.

Come springtime she will be released into the wild and we hope she will avoid little girls in future.
