Louis came in to us on a very wet and windy night last week, very cold, dehydrated and lethargic, weighing 300g.
He was placed on a heated mat to slowly raise his body temperature, and then given sub-cutaneous fluids.
He would not eat at first eat (hogs don’t eat when they have a low body temperature as they know they cannot digest the food) and initially lost weight.
He is still a bit lethargic, but has started eating and his weight has stabilised.
