This female hedgehog didn’t make it I’m afraid. She was very lifeless and freezing cold on arrival, with heavy flystrike.
We cleaned the flystrike off while warming her on a heat pad at the same time. Many of the eggs had hatched into maggot, and she had literally thousands of them in her ears.
After cleaning off the flystrike, she was placed into one of our ICU’s, but sadly died a short time after.
