Barney, the hog that came in after being bitten by a dog last night, is stable, but has not eaten yet.
His wounds are clean, but one of the puncture wounds is still bleeding.
He has had pain relief and antibiotics, and will remain in one of the ICU’s for now. He is probably in shock still, and in pain from bruising and the puncture wounds.
It is not unusual for hogs to be very withdrawn due to shock after being attacked by a dog (or fox/badger), and we hope he will calm down and eat tonight or during the day tomorrow.
