Microchipping

Well, we actually had no entries today, which was just as well because we were away on a micro-chipping training course.

We, as part of Dorset Mammal Group, will be micro-chipping some hedgehogs prior to release as part of a study to see if released hedgehogs come back into a rescue at a later date, among other things.

I think the hedgehogs will feel like they are being stabbed with a javelin, because the application needles are bloody huge.

Thank you to the Dorset Mammal Group for arranging the day, which was very interesting, and for providing the biscuits.

Please note:
1) The hedgehog in the photograph is dead (& was used for practice).
2) You cannot microchip unless trained & deemed competent by a vet.
