We microchip all the hedgehogs that we release for post-release monitoring, and scan all hedgehogs that come to the rescue to see if they are chipped.
This old chap is Gandolph who was previously in the rescue 5 years ago as an Autumn juvenile.
He has been in the wars as he is covered in bites, and is in a generally poor condition. His wounds have been cleaned and he has started his treatment regime and we hope he is strong enough to make a good recovery.
