Tiny Amputee

We have the tiny amputee hog back from the Vets now, and he has already eaten one full bowl of food!

He is in one of the incubators and is trying out one of the new crocheted nests that arrived earlier today from Fiona & Cecelia, members of an online community called Wildlife Nest Volunteers, who sent them to us from from Ireland – thank you very much!

He will be having antibiotic and analgesia injections for the next few days, and we will be keeping a close eye out for any sign of infection to the stump where his leg was removed.

Early days yet, but it’s looking good for him at the moment, and is not giving any reason for concern at this stage.
