We have been sent this poster by Louise Kitching that her 7 year old son Bruce drew, he wants to use it to promote safety and shelter in gardens for hedgehogs.
Your messy garden might just save a life this winter. Whilst your neighbours are out tidying every last leaf and cutting back every stem, wildlife experts are begging gardeners to do the complete opposite. That pile of leaves you’ve been meaning to clear? It could be a hedgehog’s hibernation shelter or nest.
What we’ve been told is ‘good gardening’ might actually be devastating for British wildlife when they need our help most.
Please leave an ‘untidy’ area in your garden to help hedgehogs and other wildlife.
