I would like to thank all our volunteers and extra helpers who made our open day a spectacular success. From controlling the traffic in and out of the car park, serving teas and coffee, running the DHR stand, tombola, the craft table, to giving advice and showing people around the rescue. A massive thank you to you all, we simply could not have managed without your support. I was going to list people who helped us, but there are so many that this will turn into a TLDR post, so please accept this as our thanks – this also means that I won’t get in trouble for forgetting anyone.
As I said yesterday, we were completely blown away by the number of people that turned up, we simply underestimated the number of followers, well wishers and hedgehog lovers in Dorset – thank you all for coming to our event and I hope you enjoyed your visit.
Our septic system reached capacity during the day due to the numbers here, and we’ve just had 2,500 gallons of waste pumped out of the tank.
We raised the fantastic sum of £8, 244.37, considerably more than we’ve raised from a single event before, so thank you to our wonderful donors and supporters.
We also had lots of donations of items to sell on our various stalls, tombola etc and a fair amount of cat food and other items.
I have received a lot of emails and messages from people who came letting me know how much they enjoyed their visit, and, of course, particularly happy to have seen hoglets being fed.
Thank you to everyone involved in helping on the day, and to those of you that came to visit.
